The field experiments for RAMONES EU project are completed addressing unique challenges in radioactivity monitoring in deep sea environments, reinforcing PLOATECH’s expertise in solving tough challenges & delivering solutions with global impact.
We are designing and building a new camera system to be announced in 2025, expanding PLOATECH’s portfolio with innovations and services for complex marine engineering challenges.
We were awarded funding by ACCIÓ to prototype a novel solution, setting new standards in sustainable energy supply for deep sea exploration. Led by PLOATECH with ViCOROB titled “LUCY – Long-term Underwater Thermoelectric Energy”.
We are expanding and strengthening partnerships with key clients and organizations, collaborating for impactful results. Also with NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration on projects exploring extreme environments, featured on NASA+ Our Alien Earth series.
We are a beneficiary of the Next Generation EU PADIH Programme and the ACCIÓ “Competitiveness Coupons: Climate Change Coupons” program, collaborating with Eurecat – Technology Centre to develop advanced polymeric membranes and integrate disruptive technologies, driving innovation in Radon detection in extreme environments, highlighting our commitment to excellence and innovation.
Grew our team by onboarding and mentoring junior engineers on exciting new marine projects providing solutions to the sector, as well as strengthened community engagement by teaching in the RAMONES Environmental Intelligence summer school in Methana, Greece and in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master programme in Intelligent Field Robotic Systems IFRoS Master.

In our commitment to become a net-zero company we participate in the Acords Voluntaris programme by the Catalan Office for Climate Change (OCCC) for the reduction of GHG emissions, contributing to the future of responsible and sustainable marine engineering.
PLOATECH presented research developments in key conferences, sharing insights and learning from colleagues, at MarTech 2024, IEEE-IGARSS 2024 and IUGC 2024.
